Adnenocarcinoma in my upper right lung stage IV when it was found in November of 2020. Tumor was radiated in December of 2022. Lucky for me treatment is relatively benign with few side effects. Take a pill every day, Tagrisso targets a protein on the cancer cell and keeps it from reproducing. Brilliant.
My story is easier to write now I am not busy. Cancer slowed me down to a pace where I took time to to look and contemplate. This is a gift. I love reading books again and I might have read 3 books in the years before diagnosis. I am well over 400 books in the past two years. This has changed my brain and offered immense emotional growth. With all of the suffering in the world I am hesitant to complain and believe the positives outweigh the negatives on my journey. I have always been inspired by nature and art. Music, painting, dancing all inspire my creativity which comes out in many forms. My music production, guitar playing, singing, songwriting and ability to engineer solutions to whatever I am facing are all given new life. Recovery from radiation is slow and tedious when you want to run through a field of flowers but I am making progress daily. That is the advice I would give. Take it a day at a time. Some are good days some are bad. Celebrate the good every day.
