It is a new year and Lisa Bell's The Italian Project is complete and soon to be a CD you can buy! I sat with James Tuttle of Airshow Studios today who mixed the music and finished the final tweeks to the CD. Fingers are crossed!
The many tracks making up the CD arrived from various world locals via DropBox uploads, DVD and CD deliveries. This CD is truly the work of many.
It began with Lisa Bell's desire to capture the love we felt after our trip to Italy in 2010 to tour and perform with Hippie Tendencies. Lisa, Lisa Simmons of Hippie Tendencies and I started by writing the songs via Skype upon our return from Italy. In 2011 after finding Mario Pagliarullo (bassist) living in Denver, a new LA, CA. transplant we where off and running. Mario helped us get the form and feel down in the production tracks we sent out to musicians. Cesare Valbousa (drums) sent drum tracks back from Italy after jamming to the tracks produced here at OilPan Studios. Then Mario Pagliarullo in Denver sent bass tracks while i started adding acoustic, lap steel and electric guitar to the mix here.
Mark Oblinger helped Lisa capture her vocals at his studio and sent those files for inclusion as well. Lisa also made another Italy trip in 2011 to capture some background vocals from Lisa Simmons, Christian Codenotti and keyboard work from Marco Cremashini. It is a wonder how well the process worked using every bit of the technology available today! Thanks go out to these wonderful artists and musicians who make the CD rock and groove. Mastered by Domonique Maita of Airshow Studios.
Look for the CD on ITunes and around Boulder at our gigs coming up. More info can be found at www.lisabellmusic.com The artwork looks wonderful as well with the colors capturing for me the warmth and beauty of a drive we took through Tuscany.
Most happy with a guitar around my neck though it is starting to weigh me down!
