Lisa, Maro and I are moving ahead with the Italian Project with drum tracks arriving daily from Cesare in Italy. Solid and inspiring they are going to be fun to work with. We have done most of the pre-production using Chris Sheldon of Great American Taxi. Playing a banjo drum kit of his own making helps with the groove and feel. It sounds so good we are going to use it on one of the new songs.
Wow! I can't believe it but I have found the best guitar pick I have ever played! My friend Tim Johnson gave me one of these Bigcity picks by Wegen in the Netherlands. It gives the most even tone of any pick i have played. Either the design or the material help make it feel just right for alternate picking. With other picks it has always been a struggle to get an even alternate stroke which i have always chalked up to bad technique on my part. This Bigcity pick seems to have solved that issue allowing the right arm to flow.
They have picks for mandolin, bluegrass guitar, large and small picks. He will do custom order sizes as well. Tortoise shell players seem to love the material.
Most happy with a guitar around my neck though it is starting to weigh me down!
